The Story Behind DCDI Driving Solutions
DCDI Driving Solutions was built around one idea: driving is learned best one-on-one, in your own car, from someone who has actually driven the roads you’re nervous about. Here’s the story of how that idea became Chennai’s personal car trainer service.
Shujahath, on-road with a student — every lesson is real traffic, not a closed track.

Founder & Personal Car Trainer, DCDI Driving Solutions
22 Years On the Road. 11 Years Turning Nervous Learners Into Confident Drivers.
I’m Shujahath, a personal car trainer in Chennai and the founder of DCDI Driving Solutions. Before I ever taught anyone to drive, I was simply a driver — for over 22 years, across Indian roads and internationally, where I hold a Dubai International Driving License. That road experience is the foundation everything else is built on.
I hold a BE in Mechanical Engineering, which gives me a genuine, technical understanding of how a vehicle behaves — not just how to operate one. When I explain why a car reacts a certain way on a slope, in traffic, or under braking, it comes from that engineering background, not a textbook script.
About 11 years ago, I noticed the same pattern again and again: people finishing driving school with a licence but no real confidence on the road. Shared instructor time, unfamiliar training cars, and one-size-fits-all pacing left too many people — especially nervous first-timers and working women — undertrained. DCDI Driving Solutions was my answer: doorstep, one-on-one training, in the learner’s own car, at a pace that matches the person, not a batch timetable.
I am IDTR certified and have personally trained 230+ students across Chennai since then. Classes run in whichever language a student is most comfortable in — Tamil, English, Hindi, or Urdu — because confidence on the road starts with understanding every instruction clearly.

What I Believe About Learning to Drive
No two learners are the same. Some need three days to feel confident in traffic; others need ten. I train to the person in front of me, not a fixed syllabus.
You’ll drive the same car daily after your licence, so you should learn in it — its clutch, its mirrors, its blind spots — not a training vehicle you’ll never see again.
Fear rarely responds to shouting. I teach calmly, repeat what’s needed, and build confidence in layers — especially for nervous and anxious learners.
Every lesson happens on actual Chennai roads — city traffic, flyovers, narrow lanes — because that’s where you’ll actually be driving, not a quiet practice ground.
A professional, respectful learning environment for women drivers — many of DCDI’s 230+ students are working women who wanted exactly that.
Instructions matter most in a moving car. I teach in Tamil, English, Hindi, and Urdu so nothing gets lost between the instruction and the road.
I was extremely nervous after failing to learn at a traditional school. Shujahath sir was incredibly patient. Within 10 days I was driving confidently on Chennai roads.
